Margaret Biggs' Obituary
Margaret Biggs, daughter of Homer Jeff and Cora Lee Myers Shields, was born September 19, 1918, near Conway, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in The Essex, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years, four months, and twenty days. On August 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Joseph Biggs, and they shared twenty-six years before his passing on February 17, 1968. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a great-granddaughter, Amy Jeter; a brother, Myerl Shields; and two nephews, Kenneth and William Shields. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Wanda Earehart, and her husband, Dwight, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Judy Lohrman, and her husband, Don, of Tunas, Missouri; a son, Russell Jeter, and his wife, Gertie, of Lebanon, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in the Laclede County area, near Good Springs and Rader, and then moved to Lebanon when she was a teenager. After she and Lloyd were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Margaret was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. Margaret had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Phillipsburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She belonged to the Rebekah Lodge and enjoyed playing in the Country Kitchen Band at the Hughes Center in Lebanon. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working in her garden. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed all her grandchildren. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her long life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 13, 2010 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial in the Phillipsburg Cemetery. Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday evening under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Phillipsburg Cemetery Care fund.
