Margaret Goosey (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Margaret Arlene Goosey, daughter of the late Wilbur Newbrough and Lillie (Austin) Newbrough, was born on November 11, 1929 in Renick, Missouri, and went to be with the Lord surrounded by family and friends on June 27, 2017. At the time of her passing, she was 87 years of age.
Arlene was a true Proverbs 31 woman. She always enjoyed having family together, especially for special occasions. She had the family hold hands around the dinner table to ask for blessing of the meal and loved gathering around the piano to sing hymns. She touched a lot of lives. All who met her were affected by knowing her and she never missed an opportunity to share the gospel with others. Arlene’s favorite saying was “God’s still working on me”, her favorite reading material was the Bible, and her favorite verse was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. In her early adult years, Arlene was a nurse by trade, however her biggest pride in life was raising five children, guiding and mentoring them well into adulthood, remaining a true matriarch until Jesus welcomed her home. Arlene’s smile and endearing love will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Al Goosey, and her son, Tom Goosey; three sisters, Anna Pearl Newbrough, Myrtle Livesay, and Lucy Newbrough; and three brothers, Hugh Newbrough, Roy Newbrough, and Dean Newbrough. She is survived by one sister, Wretha Davis of Kansas City and one brother, Carl Newbrough & wife Pauline of Moberly Mo; one step-daughter Marsha Heiken and husband Kent of Cedar Rapids Iowa, one son, Robert Goosey & wife Jan of Springfield; three daughters, Sheryl Moore of Buffalo, Tina Sanders of Buffalo, and Debbie Manary & husband Ken of Buffalo; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and her faithful dog, Moe. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends and other family members who will all truly miss her.
Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church in Buffalo, Missouri on Saturday, July 8, 2017, 2:00 p.m., preceded by visitation at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens of Memory in Buffalo, Missouri, immediately following the memorial service.
