Margaret Jane Jones' Obituary
Margaret Jane Jones, daughter of Elmer Aaron and Jessie Leoma Anderson Good, was born July 14, 1923 in Seymour, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, February 15, 2008 in St. John’s Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri at the age of eighty-four years, seven months and one day. In 1949, Margaret was united in marriage to George Russell Jones and together they shared almost forty-two years until his passing on January 2, 1991. Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, James, Jerry, Tom and Lee Good; and two sisters, Leoma Good and Hiawanda Barnhouse. She is survived by her daughter, Clydean Danson, of Republic, Missouri; two grandchildren, Shane Childress, of Republic, Missouri, and Rusty Gill and his wife, Julie, of Republic, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Gill, Sydney Gill and Lyndsey Gill; one sister, Daisy Millsap and her husband, Gerald, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, George Good and his wife, Betty, of Seymour, Missouri, and Jack Good and his wife, Gracie, of Point Blank, Texas; a sister-in-law, Edna Good, of Seymour; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Margaret was born in Seymour and spent most of her life here except for the few years she spent in Texas. She had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seymour. Margaret was a Past Worthy Matron of Chapter #144 Order of the Eastern Star in Seymour, a past member of the Wilson Alexander Post #306 American Legion Auxiliary, and was involved in the WMU at the First Baptist Church. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed sewing, cooking, working puzzles, and shopping. She treasured her farm and loved sitting on her front porch and watching the wildlife, especially the hummingbirds. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 - 6:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
