Margaret L. Sherrell's Obituary
Margaret L. Sherrell, daughter of John and Arlena Snow Huckaby, was born June 6, 1927, in Creighton, Nebraska. She departed this life Saturday, January 5, 2008, in Lee’s Summit Medical Center, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, six months, and twenty-nine days. On February 5, 1944, she was united in marriage to Johnny L. Sherrell, and to this union one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnny, on October 15, 1992; and ten brothers and sisters. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sherlene Sherrell, of Kingsville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Roland Blankenship, Leroy Blankenship, and Cathy Yuille; nineteen great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Nebraska, and then moved with her family to the Lebanon, Missouri area when she was a young girl. After she and Johnny were married, they made their home in Laclede County until moving to Independence, Missouri in the early 1960’s. Throughout her life she was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, and loved being with her family. She was very fond of animals of all kinds and particularly fish, birds, and dogs. She was a lady of great determination and liked doing things her own way. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. Her family and friends will hold dear to the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the McBride Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
