Margaret A. McGuire (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Margaret Ann McGuire, daughter of Arthur Hadley and Frances Agnes Varner Crawford, was born January 31, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She departed this life Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in her home, in Sleeper, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, three months, and twenty-seven days.
On October 17, 1969, she was united in marriage to Wilford Andrew McGuire, and they shared thirty-two years before his passing on November 3, 2001.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Debra K. and Kathy; a granddaughter, April Piercy; a grandson, Kenneth Keys; and a brother, Tom Crawford.
Margaret is survived by six daughters, Paula Blackburn, and her husband, Richard, of Lebanon, Missouri, Pat Myers, and her husband, Frank, Belinda Stewart, all of Sleeper, Missouri, Sharon Wilmoth, and her husband, Tim, of Kansas City, Missouri, Lucreatia Leetch, of Eldridge, Missouri, and Carla Marshall, and her husband, Chuck, of Drumright, Oklahoma; a son, Bruce Begley, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, David Crawford, of Bixby, Oklahoma; a sister, Carol Miller, and her husband, Wes, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated from high school there. She then attended Phillips Junior College and earned her diploma as a Medical Claims Specialist in Springfield, Missouri. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, Margaret had worked as a cook for Kenny’s Dairy Joy, Christian Health Care South, and at Lebanon High School.
Margaret followed the Baptist faith throughout her life.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers. She also liked building things, reading romance novels and loved her coy fish pond. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren.
Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother; sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her seventy-five years.
A Memorial has been established and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
