Margaret Wills' Obituary
Margaret Alice Wills, daughter of George B. and Nannie Marie Doing Stratton, was born October 8, 1931, near Phillipsburg, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in her home, near Phillipsburg, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, two months, and twenty-two days. On October 8, 1949, she was united in marriage to Billy R. Wills, and to this union two daughters and one son were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Mark Brewer; and a sister, Bernice. Margaret is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Billy, of the home; a son, Ross Wills, and his wife, Tammy, of Niangua, Missouri; two daughters, Loretta Brewer, and her husband, Steve, of Springfield, Missouri, and Teresa Wills, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Mark, Shane, and Danielle; a sister, Phyllis Stratton, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Phillipsburg community and graduated from Phillipsburg High School in the Class of 1948. After she and Billy were married, they made their home near Phillipsburg and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker and mother, Margaret also worked at the Phillipsburg Elementary School and at the Conway High School for several years. She later began a career in banking as a customer service representative for Commerce Bank in Lebanon. After retiring from Commerce Bank, she was employed at Central Bank of Lebanon for a few years. Margaret was a longtime member of the Phillipsburg United Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, was an excellent seamstress and liked to do quilting. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making special recipes for her family and friends. She and Billy enjoyed square dancing with their friends, and also enjoyed taking care of their pets. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday January 2, 2009 at Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be in the Conway Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening 7-8:30 pm under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.
