Margery Frances Little (Seymour)'s Obituary
Margery Frances (Farnham) Little was born on February 17th, 1929, in Mansfield, Missouri. She was the only child of Arthur C. Farnham and Sylvia Frances (Brazeal) Farnham. Growing up, she attended 26 different schools and one year at SMS, now MSU. Margery was very involved in high school activities including ROTC, serving as Sponsor Colonel ROTC, Secretary of Student Body, Secretary of Sophomore and Junior Class, Student Council, National Honor Society, Red Cross and Jr. Red Cross representative, homeroom officer and teacher assistant, as well as captain of the basketball and volleyball teams. She was also elected Daughter of the American Revolution. Margery was a graduate of St. Joseph, Missouri’s, Central High School Class of 1947.
Margery’s first job was as secretary for a general contracting firm in Springfield, Missouri, where she worked for eight years. On December 27th, 1950, she was united in marriage to Forrest Wayne Little and together they enjoyed 67 years of marriage and had three children. She was a dedicated wife, homemaker and loving mother, also working outside the home at The Seymour Bank in Seymour, Missouri. Margery retired after more than 30 years of faithful service.
At the wise age of 92, Margery departed this life on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021, blessed to be in her rural Seymour home and surrounded by loved ones. In addition to her parents, Margery was preceded in death by her devoted husband Forrest, two brothers-in-law, Gerald Little and wife Betty, and Woody Little and wife Carm, and a sister-in-law, Clejo King and husband Joe.
Surviving Margery are her three children, Alan L. Little and wife Glenda of Ava, Missouri, and twin siblings, Jill A. (Little) Kingsbury and husband Daniel of Ozark, Missouri, and Jack W. Little of Seymour; eight grandchildren, Lance Little and wife Megan, Nathan Little and wife Ali, Ashley Golden and husband Sam, Evan Little, Sara Rhodes and husband Mark, Logan Little and fiancé Zoey Crandall, Garrett Little, and Bethany Kingsbury; eight great-grandchildren, Aiden Little, Bentley Little, Allie Mae Little, Owen Rhodes, Hailey Rhodes, Isaiah Little, Xavier Little, and Emri Rhodes; and many, many dear friends and neighbors.
Margery was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a caring friend and a genuinely sweet lady who was kind to all. We celebrate her life and will always remember the countless special times we shared together.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "WMU (The Women on Mission) at First Baptist Church" in Seymour, and may be left at the funeral home or church.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 10 AM, at the First Baptist Church in Seymour. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at 3 PM, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
