Margie Ann Wynn's Obituary
argie Ann Wynn, daughter of Fred C. and Opal L. Allen Carter, was born March 5, 1926, in East St. Louis, Illinois. She departed this life Saturday, May 31, 2008 in St. John’s Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years, two months, and twenty-six days. On August 16, 1947, Margie was united in marriage to Arthur A. Wynn II and together they shared nearly thirty years until Arthur’s passing on June 22, 1977. Margie was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Jane Ellen Greene and Judith Ann Richardson; two grandsons, Terry Wayne Greene and Jason Arthur Wynn; three sisters, Jessie Elkin, Dorothy Hutsell, and Betty Harper; and one brother, Fred Wynn Jr. She is survived by her son, Art Wynn III and his wife Darlys, of Mansfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Gary Greene and his wife Erin, and Jennifer Morris and her husband Alan, all of Mansfield, Missouri, Leslie Salley and her husband Witt, and Ryan Richardson, all of Springfield, Missouri, Johna Wynn, of Ozark, Missouri, and Sarah Wynn, of Mansfield, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Spencer, Sydnee, and Sadee Greene, and Kailey, Lexie, and Quincee Morris; two sons-in-law, Max Greene, of Mansfield, Missouri and Roger Richardson, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Margie spent her early years in St. Louis and had attended Business School there. After graduation, she moved to Hartville, for a short period of time, where she lived with her family on the farm. After meeting and marrying Arthur, they moved to Wichita, Kansas and remained there until moving back to Hartville in 1965, at which time they purchased the Carter Dealership. Margie and Arthur operated Art Wynn Motors for ten years until Arthur’s passing. She then went to work at the Wright County Courthouse, working for Judges Moody and Turner, as well as many other attorneys in the area. She also worked at the Wilder Home in Mansfield for several years and enjoyed visiting with everyone who came to see the home. Margie had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of the Hartville Christian Church where she enjoyed worshiping with her fellow members. She centered her life on her family, who was very important to her. She was also a member of the Athenian Club and PEO. In her spare time, Margie enjoyed reading, watching movies, playing many different card games, and working crossword puzzles. Margie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Hartville. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
