Mariam M.C. Chastain's Obituary
Mariam Deloris “M.C.” Chastain, daughter of William and Sylvia Howell, was born August 1, 1939 in Muncie, Indiana. She departed this life Friday, February 22, 2008 in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years, six months, and twenty-one days. On May 1, 1993, M.C. was united in marriage to Terry Lee Chastain and together they have shared the past fourteen plus years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Donna Ellen Howell. M.C. is survived by her husband Terry, of the home; her children Denise White, of Camarillo, California, Jeff Sweet, of the State of Utah, Greg Ching and his wife Carol, of Moreno Valley, California, Jim Ching and his wife Nikki, of Parker, Arizona, and Michael Ching, of Seymour, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; an uncle, Ron “Sonny” Howell and his wife Nila, of Ozark, Missouri; two nieces; a host of other relatives and many friends. M.C. was born in Indiana and had moved with her family to California at the age of 15. Later, she moved to Ozark, Missouri and then to the State of Nevada for fifteen years. While living there, she met and married Terry, the love of her life. She and Terry moved to Seymour, Missouri four years ago to make their home. She had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was of the Pentecostal faith. M.C. loved growing beautiful flowers and being outdoors where she watched the birds, especially hummingbirds, and other wildlife. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, playing the piano and working on her computer. M.C. was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, niece, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life of love and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Seymour. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
