Marian Virginia Rice (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Marian Virginia Rice was born in Empire, Ohio on July 3, 1929, to William C. and Lena Rea. She attended East Liverpool High School and graduated in 1947.
In September of 1951 she met a charming young Navy man on a blind date, Lloyd Alvin Rice (Al). It was love at first sight and they were married December 21 that same year in Millington, Tennessee. They shared 52 wonderful years of marriage together.
Marian was a wonderful mother and homemaker and very devoted to her family.
She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church and served on many committees throughout her 55 years of membership. Marian was honored to be a member in the CMH Auxiliary since it began in 1982 and was very proud to serve on their board and the many additions they made for the CMH facilities. She earned the Lillian Hutchison Award for her exemplary service. This meant a lot to her because Lillian was a dear friend. Marian loved having family holiday meals and playing games with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Bridge with her many friends.
Marian is preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Lena Rea; her husband, Lloyd A. Rice; her brother and sisters Donald Rea, Jeanine Cookinham and Nancy Keith; her daughter-in-law Candy Rice; her sons in-law, Emery Davis and Larry Cole.
Marian is survived by her children, Sandy Frieze (Rick), Linda Williamson, Bill Rice, Paula Davis, Donna Cole, and Dennis Weaver. She was also survived by 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren with three more on the way.
