Marie Jenkins, 89, of Jefferson City, MO passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Oak Tree Villas Care Facility in Jefferson City, MO.
Marie Jenkins, age 89, of Jefferson City, MO passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in Jefferson City, MO.
Marie was born August 9, 1930 in Wishart, MO, a daughter of Cullus and Faye Looney.
She was united in marriage to John Jenkins on March 18, 1946, in Girard, KS. They were married for 72 years when he passed away on May 26, 2018.
She and John moved to Palo Alto, CA in 1947. She was a stay-at-home mother. After John retired from Hewlett-Packard in 1972, they returned to Bolivar, MO and lived there until 1990 when they moved to Jefferson City, MO.
Marie is survived by 4 children; Brenda (Jim) Simon of Arlington, TX, Janet (Chester) Burch of Wardsville, MO, Terri (Kendal) Roweton of Beverly Hills, FL, and Jeff (Cyntha) Jenkins of Jefferson City, MO; 5 grandchildren; Jim Simon, Shelly Chase, Shay Burch, Jarrett Jenkins, and Tanner Jenkins; 4 great-grandchildren, two nephews, four nieces, and a sister-n-law, Mildred Erven.
Besides her husband John, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Genevieve Brown, and one brother, B.J. Looney.
Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:00 am on Saturday, August 17 at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. Grave side services will follow visitation at Slagle cemetery.
