Marilyn Sue Hicks (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Marilyn Sue Hicks, daughter of Marvin and Florence Gott Rice, was born
April 24, 1938, in Charity, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, September 18, 2019, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, four months, and twenty-five days.
In 1955, she was united in marriage to James Richard “Ricky” Hicks, and to this union one son was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ricky, on November 28, 2008; two brothers, Art and Jerry; and a sister, Geraldine.
Marilyn is survived by a son, Randy Hicks, and his wife, Sue, of Lebanon, Missouri; three step-granddaughters, Amber Darnell, and her husband Brandon, of Branson, Missouri, Emily Johnson, and her husband Alex, and Korrie Brinton, all of Lebanon, Missouri; five step-great-grandchildren, Kaden, River, Ryland, Grayson, and Bodie; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Conway, Missouri community, and attended Conway Schools. After she and Ricky were married they made their home in Lebanon for a while before moving to California. Marilyn and Ricky made their home in California for many years, and lovingly raised their son. Marilyn was a devoted homemaker and also worked as a beautician after earning his cosmetology license. The family returned to Lebanon in 1970, and Marilyn continued to work as a beautician for several years.
She loved playing Bingo and liked taking care of her home. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
A private graveside service and burial will be held at Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon.
