Marilyn Kay Moore (Buffalo)'s Obituary
On November 7, 2023, Heaven opened and welcomed Marilyn Kay Moore 78, of Nixa, MO, to her eternal home. Her children David and Jennifer were by her side.
Marilyn was born November 7, 1945, in Springfield, MO to Alva Ray Patterson and Virginia Louise (Hall) Patterson. Marilyn graduated High School from Pleasant Hope, MO in 1963. She later married Thomas David Moore, until 1974.
For most of her life, she worked in retail and insurance underwriting. She finished up spending her days working in home health care, taking care of others, who she grew fondly of.
Her passion in life was her children, but more importantly, her grandchildren. Her overwhelming love of her grandchildren was easily seen by her devotion, spending her days attending every school function, award ceremonies, and sporting events that they were involved in. She leaves behind those boys who were so precious to her: Hunter, Garrett, and step-grandson Lance.
Marilyn moved to Nixa, MO to be closer to her grandchildren. She lived the last 7 years in a 55 plus community, where she became great friends with many wonderful people. She spent hours playing dominoes, decorating the club room, and having morning coffee. Her children are beyond grateful for all those friendships that she created there.
Marilyn is proceeded in death by her parents, Alva Ray Patterson and Virginia Louise (Hall) Patterson.
Marilyn is survived by her loving children, son Michael David Moore (Springfield, MO), daughter Jennifer Lea Schowengerdt (Nixa), Son-in-Law Todd Schowengerdt, grandchildren Hunter Davidson (Pagosa Springs, CO), Garrett Davidson (Nixa, MO) and step-grandson Lance Schowengerdt (Nixa, MO).
Marilyn also leaves behind three wonderful siblings, Patricia Cox (Lee’s Summit, MO), Michael Ray Patterson (Springfield, MO), and Kathy Wilson (Buffalo, MO).
Marilyn had several cousins, nieces, and nephews, that she adored, as well as an abundance of amazing friends. She loved visiting with them all!
She has left an empty space in many hearts and will be truly missed by all those that knew and loved her!
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at Maple Lawn Cemetery in
