Marilyn Parrott (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Marilyn Parrott, 98, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away on Saturday morning, January 27, 2024, at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.
Marilyn was born on August 18,1925 in Bolivar, Missouri and in later years lived in rural Polk County near Aldrich. She was the daughter of Jimmie Franklin Hughes and Lois Hailey Hughes.
She was among the last surviving members of the Bolivar High School class of 1943. She attended Southwest Baptist College and was a member of the Bolivar First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.
On August 18, 1946, Marilyn was united in marriage to K.K. Parrott Jr, and to this union three children were born.
She was employed for 39 years at Polk County Bank (Mid Missouri) and following her retirement, was the first woman elected to serve on the board of directors of the bank. She was an active member of her church and served in many areas as long as health permitted. She was a charter member of the Women’s Facts and Fiction Club and served on the board of the Polk County Health Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 48 years K.K. and her son Jimmy.
Survivors include her daughter Kathleen Allee and husband Dean of Bolivar, her son Chris Parrott and wife Jean of Springfield; her grandchildren Heather Heimbeaugh and husband Tom, Curtis Parrott and wife Sadie, Kevin Parrott and wife Jessica, and Angelia Allee Maxeiner and husband Mark, great-grandchildren Megan Heimbeaugh and fiancé Jamen O’Quinn, Reece Maxeiner, Tori, Rosie, Parker, Brynley and Bonnie Parrott, and baby girl Parrott due in July. Also surviving are her sisters, Annalee Huntress of Monett, and Helen Hanigan and husband Mike of Andover, MA, her niece and caregiver, Michelle Westfall and, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins
A visitation for Marilyn will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the First Christian Church of Bolivar.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Bolivar.
