Marion Ellis' Obituary
Marion Lee Ellis, son of Paul and Willie Belle (Foster) Ellis, was born August 10, 1938 in Seymour, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, October 20, 2009, in his home, in Seymour, Missouri at the age of seventy-one years, two months, and ten days. On March 31, 1973 he was united in marriage to Alma Ruth Napier and together they shared thirty-six wonderful years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Asher; a daughter, Tamie Kessinger; and his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Johanna Napier. Marion is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, of the home; five children, Kathy Helsley, and Gerrie Riley, and her husband, Kenny, all of Seymour, Missouri, Robert Asher, and his wife, Judy, of Rogersville, Missouri, Regina Bogart, and her husband, Larry, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Sue Merriett, of Ava, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Sue Ellis, of Marshfield, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. He was a lifelong resident of Seymour and graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1956. He was a retired truck driver from Journagan Asphalt and Construction Company and Swearengin Trucking Company, and had also worked at MAC-A-MO Casket Company, in Marshfield and LP&H Construction Company. Marion had made his profession of faith in Christ at the age of nine and attended Seymour Free Will Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family and visiting with friends at Wilda’s Café. He was a mechanic and loved fixing all kinds of motors. Marion was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and dear friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday October 23, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Seymour. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday evening 7-8:00pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
