Marion Napier's Obituary
Marion Robert Napier, son of Robert Lincoln and Johanna (Hosiner) Napier was born July 17, 1934 near Seymour, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, November 6, 2009 in Lexington Square in Keokuk, Iowa, at the age of seventy-five years, three months, and twenty days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Johnson and Marion Ellis; and two nephews, Leland Johnson and David Asher.
Marion is survived by four children, Luwanna, Teresa, Sandy, and Marion Robert, Jr.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Bessie Johnson, of Springfield, Missouri and Ruth Ellis of Seymour, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born in the Liberty Community near Seymour and served with the United States Army during the Korean War. After leaving the service he returned to Seymour, where he drove a milk truck. He moved back and forth between Illinois and Seymour for several years and eventually stayed in Illinois. After being diagnosed with cancer he entered Lexington Square in Keokuk.
Marion had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and had attended the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Seymour.
He loved to play the guitar and mandolin and sing with his family and friends. In his spare time he liked to go fishing and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He especially enjoyed giving his nieces a hard time.
Marion was a kind and loving man who kept his faith in the Lord through all the bad and good times in his life, and is now at home in Heaven with his mom and dad.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in Seymour Masonic Cemetery with Brother fred Napier officiating under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour. Visitation will be 7-8:00 p.m., Monday in the funeral home.
