Marion Thomason's Obituary
Marion Claire Thomason, daughter of Paul E. and Gena Peterson Rogers, was born February 23, 1927 in Puyallup, Washington and departed this life on September 1, 2010 in St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri at the age of eighty-three years, six months and ten days.
She was united in marriage to Justin Thomason on June 6, 1953 and to this union three children were born. Justin preceded her in death on September 13, 2007.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Marion is survived by a daughter, Pauline Merka of Koshkonong, Missouri; two sons, Ben Thomason and his wife, Nadia and Joe Thomason and his wife Debbie all of Mansfield, Missouri; three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Rogers of Tacoma, Washington and a sister, Hope Jones of the State of Oregon and a very dear friend, Jim Dougherty of Macomb, Missouri; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Washington State and lived two years in Alaska. She moved to Mansfield on July 4, 1970 and made her home here with her family until her passing.
Marion made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mansfield First Assembly of God Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, spinning, knitting and gardening.
Marion was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many friends.
