Marjorie E. Sromek (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Marjorie “Marge” Elizabeth Sromek, daughter of the late John & Margaret (Hartauver) Ruby, was born on March 28, 1933 and departed this life on April 5, 2023. At the time of her passing, Marjorie was ninety years and eight days of age.
Marjorie was preceded in passing by her parents; three siblings, John Ruby Jr., William Ruby and Dorothy O’Donnell; one son-in-law, Mark Coleman
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Bill Sromek; three children, Katherine Coleman, Lynn and husband Robert Dralle and Patti and husband Hugh Benscoter; five grandchildren, Bryan and wife Corinne Batterman, Keith and wife Michelle Batterman, Shannon Batterman, William and wife Elizabeth Benscoter and Joseph and wife Elaina Benscoter; two great-grandchildren, Colt and Piper Batterman; two step-grandchildren, Jacob and wife Marisela Dralle and Ryan Dralle; two step-great-grandchildren, Alexander and Benjamin Dralle.
Marjorie was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois where she would later graduate from Fenger High School in the class of 1950. On December 27, 1952, Marjorie was united in marriage to William “Bill” Sromek; together, they shared 70 years of marriage and to this union, three children were born. Marge was a devoted wife & mother and during her working career, she was a technician for an Ophthalmologist. Together, they retired in 1985 and moved from Crete, Illinois to Lake of the Ozarks in 1987 to enjoy their retirement.
In their spare time, they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, golfing and making friends. Marjorie had a passion for golf and played until she was 79. She loved to sew, quilt, crochet, and above all spend time with her family.
Marjorie was baptized into the Catholic church and attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Camdenton, Missouri.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the care and compassion shown to Marjorie in her final days by the caring nurses and personnel with Lake Regional Hospice. Marjorie passed at home surrounded by her immediate family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Regional Hospice and mailed to the funeral home, Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, 15 Clint Ave, Camdenton, MO 65020.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
Plans to celebrate her life will take place at her home in Roach, MO in June, 2023 when her extended family and friends will come together. A mass for the repose of Marjorie’s soul will be offered at St. Anthony’s Catholic church during this time.
