Marjorie Williams' Obituary
Marjorie Jane Williams, daughter of Royal and Mabel Main, was born May 25, 1925, in Hamilton, Missouri, and departed this life Thursday, February 17, 2011, in her home near Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, eight months and twenty-two days. On February 6, 1943, she was united in marriage to Frank Williams and to this union a son was born. Frank preceded her in death on May 25, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Sam Main. Marjorie is survived by her son, Roy Williams and his wife, Linda, of Willard, Missouri; a granddaughter, April Virden and her husband, Richard, of Springfield, Missouri; a great-grandson, Nick Virden and his fiancée, Rachel, of Springfield, Missouri; along with other relatives and many friends. She was raised in Hamilton, Missouri, where she graduated from Hamilton High School. She met Frank in 1942 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After marriage in 1943, they moved to Oregon in 1948 where Frank worked in the lumber industry. Around 1950 they moved to Mansfield where she lived the rest of her life. Marjorie worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory for many years as well as working at the drivers license office. She was also the Pleasant Valley Tax Collector for many years. Marjorie had made her profession of faith in Christ and had attended Mansfield Church of the Nazarene until her health failed. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and sewing, collecting dishes and dolls. Marjorie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank her caregivers and Oxford Hospice for the exceptional care that was given.
