Mark Medley's Obituary
Mark Alan Medley Sr., son of Charles Alfred and Lois Ruth Frame Medley, was born, September 25, 1949 in Decatur, Illinois. He departed this life, Saturday, March 27, 2010, in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty years. He was united in marriage to Brenda Arlene Jones on December 26, 1977 in Omaha, Nebraska. Together they shared the past thirty-two years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda Medley of the home; three children, Marci Medley of Richmond, Virginia, Mark A. Medley, Jr. and wife Melissa of Jacksonville, Illinois and Jamie Long of Lake of the Ozark, Missouri; a granddaughter, Meagan Long of Camdenton, Missouri; a sister, Marilyn A. Boyle and husband John R. of Bloomington, Indiana; two nieces, Bryttlee Boyle Hasslinger and husband Nyle Robert of Four Seasons, Missouri and Marilynne Boyle-Baise and husband Michael of Bloomington, Indiana, other relatives, and many friends. Mark was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated in the class of 1967. He then attended Nebraska Wesleyan University. He was a musician who played drums and did vocals for several bands that did back-up for many big names through 1976. With his best friend, Jim McManaman, he was a part of Bijou Revue, his last band. Until 1993, he and his wife were Restauranteurs in Nebraska and Illinois. In 1993, they moved to the lake area and purchased Service Master. In his earlier years, he was an avid bass fisherman. He loved to dance, water ski, and was good at everything he attempted. In his later years, he traveled and was always working on a new project. Most of all, he was a musician at heart and he lived his life through music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April 3, 2010 at the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton.
