Martha Atkins' Obituary
Martha Lois Atkins, age 69 of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Fair Play, Missouri, passed away at 4:00am on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri. She was born February 23, 1939 in Fair Play, Missouri to Henry Stephenson Manning and Lillie Mae Clayton Manning. She was a homemaker. Lois is survived by her three sons; Gary Atkins and his wife Cindy of Kansas City, Missouri, Bret Atkins and his wife Lisa of Kansas City, Missouri, Rick Atkins and his wife Cheryl of Independence, Missouri, a daughter; Debbie Allen and her husband David of Independence, Missouri, a sister; Wilma Lea Tirey of Elizabeth Town, Kentucky, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Gray Nordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Barren Creek Cemetery west of Bolivar, Missouri. Musical selections will be Hello Darlin and The Rose by Conway Twitty, and Go Rest High On That Mountain by Vince Gill. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am, Wednesday prior to service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Terry Staple, Andy Staple, Gary Atkins, Bret Atkins, David Allen and Rick Atkins.
