Martha M. Bauer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Martha Mae Bauer, daughter of George and Kate Goettl Thomas, was born May 6, 1932, in Mansfield, Ohio. She departed this life Sunday, January 21, 2018, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, eight months, and sixteen days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah Bauer Fout; a brother, George Thomas; and two sisters, Helen Zaremba, and Ruth Hill.
Martha is survived by two sons, Bryan Bauer, and his wife, Kevan, of Bullard, Texas, and James Bauer, of Tyler, Texas; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bryan, Jr., and Kristine; seven great-grandchildren, Abram, Alia, Adlai, Kyle, Andrew, Kaden, and Alayna; a her twin sister, Margaret Ann Stewart, and her husband, Frank, of Scottsdale, Arizona; several nieces and nephews, including Kathy Ring, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Ohio, and then moved with her family to Arizona when she was a young lady. She was a devoted homemaker to her husband and a loving mother to her children. She made her home in Texas during the 1960’s and 1970’s, and worked for General Electric Corporation. In 1975, she moved to Arizona where she worked for the Litton Corporation. She made her home in Lebanon, Missouri, in 1980, and worked for Marathon Electric for eight years, retiring in 1994.
She enjoyed watching football games and car races, and liked baking, especially Christmas cookies. She always took great pride in herself and her appearance. She enjoyed decorating her house and cleaning and caring for her home. She also had a great attachment to her pet dogs throughout the years.
We celebrate Martha’s life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lebanon Claws and Paws or the Alzheimer's Association and may be made through the Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
