Martha Sue Johnson (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Martha Sue Johnson, daughter of the late Paul and Louise (Wunder) Eckman, was born on November 9, 1942 in Camp Atterbury, IN, and departed this life on March 30, 2018 at Colonial Springs Healthcare in Buffalo, MO. At the time of her passing she was 75 years, 4 months, and 20 days of age.
Sue was the daughter of an Army Major, and spent her childhood travelling the world with her family. She loved experiencing the cultures in Panama, Germany, and Okinawa Japan from the perspective of those who live there. She enjoyed worshiping and serving her Lord and Savior with the congregations of Louisburg Christian Church, Branch Assembly of God, and Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to Dennis Johnson on November 29, 1971. Sue had a heart to care for others, both before and after retiring as a Registered Nurse.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Rick Eckman; and one sister, Gina Norem. She is survived by her husband Dennis of the home; two sons, Roger Johnson of Elkland, MO and Richard Johnson of Springfield, MO; four daughters, Susan Johnson of Olathe, KS, Stephanie Johnson, Denise Johnson of St. Louis, MO, and Debra Horn of Springfield, MO; one brother, Steve & wife Tonya Eckman of Emporia, KS; two sisters, Ellen Ann & husband Jack DePriest of Monett, MO and Kay & husband John McCallister of Monett, MO; and 15 grandchildren. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.
Cremation rites were accorded under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness and Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
