Martha Lunte (Seymour)'s Obituary
Martha Jean (Willbanks) Lunte, daughter of John and Maude (Coday) Willbanks, was born May 30, 1923 in Hartville, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday evening, January 3, 2013 in South Cox Hospital, Springfield, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years, seven months and four days.
Jean, as she was known to her family and friends, was raised in Hartville, Missouri. In 1946 she was united in marriage to Melvin Frank Lunte and to this union one son was born.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters; and her husband of over fifty years, Melvin.
Jean is survived by her son Kenneth Lunte and wife Alice of Cadiz, Kentucky; her grandsons Ben Lunte of Louisville, Kentucky and Zachery Lunte, whom is at sea serving in the United States Marine Corp; her great-granddaughter Hailey Lunte; her brother Tom Willbanks and wife Pearlee of Seymour, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other dear family and friends.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior early in her life and served him faithfully. She knew her bible. Jean taught and worked in the churches around St. Louis and O’Fallon, Missouri until her health began to fail.
Jean was an avid reader, and enjoyed fishing. But the truth be told, caring for her family was when she was at her happiest. She loved her family and cared for each and every one of them. She leaves behind a legacy of faith and unconditional love for all that knew her.
Jean Lunte, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and the precious memories she created. She was much loved and will be remembered. Although we will miss her, we hold dear to the truth that one day we will meet again.
