Marvi n's Obituary
arvin James Kirk, son of Alfred H. and Celest Sherman Kirk, was born August 26, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at his residence in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of seventy years, ten months, and thirteen days. On March 16, 1979 in Gerald, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Anita Sandra Ocsody. Together they have shared the past twenty-nine years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Anita, of the home; a son, John Baumgarth, Jr. and wife, Stacey, of Villa Ridge, Missouri; three grandchildren, Tyler, Clayton and Kristin Baumgarth; two brothers, Bill Kirk of Ballwin, Missouri, and Danny Kirk and wife, Joyce, of Osceola, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was raised in Kirkwood, Missouri, and graduated from Kirkwood High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country proudly. After being honorably discharged, he returned to the St. Louis area. He attended school and became a Ferrier and later a meat cutter and joined the meat cutters union. He later moved to Chesterfield, Missouri, and joined the fire department. He retired from the Chesterfield (Monarch) Fire Department as a Battalion Chief after twenty-one years of service to the community. He was always a servant to the community and had also served as an EMT and a lifeguard. He received a commendation for twenty-one years of community service from the fire department and was given a commemorative axe. He and his wife retired to the Lake of the Ozarks area in 1996. Jim made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Moolah Shrine in St. Louis, Missouri. Services will be held at 4:00pm Thursday July 17,2008, in theAllee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Visitation will be held 2:00P.M until service time under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. A memorial has been established for the purchase of a bench to be placed in Jim's memory at Ha Ha Tonka State Park and may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
