Mary 's Obituary
Mary Ellen Thompson, daughter of James William and Julia May Hand Edwards, was born November 6, 1916 in Port Arthur, Texas. She departed this life, Sunday, October 15, 2006 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years, eleven months and nine days. She was united in marriage to Harvey Thompson and to this union two sons were born. He preceded her in death after forty-nine years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, James Harvey Thompson. Mary is survived by her son, David Thompson of Eldon, Missouri and eleven grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and many friends. She was raised in Texas and spent the majority of her life in the Quinlan, Texas area. She moved to Missouri following the death of her husband. Mary made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia. She served as a Sunday School teacher for many years at various churches and very much enjoyed the time spent with the children. In her spare time she enjoyed doing gardening and sewing. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2006, in Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
