Mary Nell Andrews (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Mary Nell Andrews, daughter of the late Clyde and Cynthia (Boulware) Hagan, was born on March 23, 1935 and departed this life on April, 11, 2023. At the time of her passing she was 88 years and 17 days of age.
Mary Nell spent her younger years in Niangua before moving to Buffalo. She graduated from Buffalo High School and then received her degree in Education from Missouri Teachers College in Springfield, MO. She was united in marriage to James Riley Andrews on May 27, 1956 and to this union three sons were born, all of whom survive her. She began working in the Head Start Program before beginning her career in the Dallas County School District as a First Grade Teacher. She touched many lives in her 30 years of service. After her retirement she volunteered with the Friends of the Library and as a reading buddy. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gama Society and the Retired Teachers Association. Mary Nell enjoyed spending time with her family, going on vacations, and attending her granddaughter’s school activities and sporting events.
Mary Nell was preceded in death by her husband James; her parents; and one sister. She is survived by her three sons, Chris Andrews of Nevada, MO, Mike Andrews of Springfield, MO, and David & wife Julie Andrews of Buffalo; two granddaughters, Madison and Marlee Andrews; and one brother, Bill & wife Sharon Hagan of Buffalo, MO. She also leaves other family members, many friends, and former students who will all truly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Autry officiating. Escorts will be Jason Krider, Jon Hicks, Jason Whipple, and Mark Hagan. Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Friends of the Library and left at the Funeral Home.
