Mary Belle Oberlin's Obituary
Mary Belle Oberlin, daughter of Ray Hazen and Mary Kathryn Clark Oberlin, was born September 23, 1940, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, December 28, 2007, in her home, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, three months, and five days. Her parents preceded her in death. Mary Belle is survived by a brother, Leslie Ray Oberlin, of Garden City, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; a number of cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born and raised in the Lebanon community and graduated from Lebanon High School. She then attended Burge School of Nursing in Springfield where she became a Registered Nurse. She continued to make her home in Springfield and for many years worked as a nurse for the Cox Health Systems. Mary Belle made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and had attended the First Congregational Church of Lebanon. She was an avid reader from early childhood throughout her life and had a great affection for cats, particularly her pet, “Sadie”. She enjoyed collecting porcelain figurines, especially ones of cats, and had many on display in her home. Mary Belle was a loving sister, aunt, and cousin, and was kind and caring person. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008, in Mount Rose Memorial Park.
