Mary Denner's Obituary
Mary Jo Denner, daughter of George Harrison and Clone Ethel (Hutchison) Cole was born April 4, 1930 in the Mountain Dale Community near Seymour, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri surrounded by her family at the age of seventy-nine years, eleven months, and nine days.
On May 1, 1946 Mary Jo was united in marriage to Robert Lee Denner and two sons were born to this union.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob on September 22, 2002; two sisters, Anna Todd and Eula Lambert; and a brother, Sammy Cole.
Mary Jo is survived by her sons, Tim Denner and his wife, Stacy, of Seymour, Missouri, and Randy Denner and his wife, Gina, of Strafford, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Travis Denner and his wife, Crystal, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Michael Denner and his wife, Ann, of Pella Iowa, Jason Denner, Melissa Hall and her husband, Joe, all of Mansfield, Missouri, Deanna Bennett and husband, Steven, Josh Denner, Brandi Calhoun and her husband, Doug, and Kayla Strong, all of Seymour, Missouri, Ashley Raymond and Randi Joann Raymond, both of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Candi Wilcox, of Fair Play, Missouri, Sara Miller, of Tucson, Arizona, and Paul Miller, of Strafford, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren, Heyden, Addisyn, Nicholas, Olivia, Maddox, Aleigha, Isabella, Dane, and Gage; Two sisters, Jewell Smith, of Great Falls, Montana and Lila Wright, of Hartville, Missouri; a brother, Russell Cole and his wife, Delores, of Muscatine, Iowa; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Herring and her husband, Bill, of Seymour, Missouri, Glenna Mae Fine, of West Plains, Missouri, Fred Denner and his wife, Pat, of Shreveport, Louisiana, Dewayne Denner and his wife, Helen, of San Antonio, Texas, Charles Denner and his wife, Sharon, of Norwalk, California, Bill Denner and his wife, Connie, of Grandville, Ohio, and Keith Denner, and his wife, Cherry, of Humble, Texas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She grew up in Seymour and after her marriage to Bob she helped him on the farm.
She was a devoted homemaker to her family and also had worked at the Skyline Café, Ozark Manufacturing, St. John’s Hospital, and Lynch’s Steak House.
Mary Jo had made her profession of faith in God and followed the Baptist faith throughout her life. She was a long time member of the Burnett Sewing Club of Seymour and enjoyed the fellowship with her friends.
In her spare time she enjoyed square dancing, sewing, and reading. She loved visiting with her family and friends and she especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren.
Mary Jo was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and a good friend and neighbor. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish all the memories she made for her family and friends.
Services are 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Seymour, Mo., with Reverend Derek Terry officiating. Burial will be in Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 366, Seymour, Mo. 65746
