Mary J. Fox (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary Jane Fox, daughter of John and Alice Adeal Jones Lee, was born August 7, 1946, in Valley City, North Dakota. She departed this life Friday, October 20, 2017, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, two months, and one day.
On November 1, 1969, she was united in marriage to John Elton Fox, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Sharon and Susan.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, John, of the home; a daughter Barbara McWilliams, and her husband, Mike, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Lance Fox, and his wife, Lisa, of Lebanon, Missouri; three granddaughters, Taylor, Jodie, and Erika; a great-granddaughter, Hadlee; three brothers, Neil Lee, of Stockton, Missouri, Jim Lee, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Mike Lee, of Wyota, Iowa; four sisters, Shirley Winn, of Tucson, Arizona, Elaine Mitchell and Connie Fisher, both of Stockton, Missouri, and Alice Hendricks, of Sarasota, Florida; a number of nieces and nephews; her special caregivers, Dianna Brown and Christine Saunders; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in North Dakota, and graduated from Gann Valley High School. She then moved with her family to Stockton, Missouri, where she met and soon married John. She and John made their home in Rolla, Missouri for several years before moving to Lebanon. Mary was a devoted homemaker to her husband and a loving mother to her children. She also worked at Harwood Clinic for a few years, and then was employed by United Savings and Loan. She continued her career in banking at Laclede County Bank for several years.
Mary was a very active member of Southern Heights Christian Church where she had taken part in mission trips to the Ukraine and Mexico. She loved her church family and remained active in her church for as long as her health allowed. She had a very caring heart and was always willing to help others.
Her life revolved around her family and she was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and particularly liked going to the beach. She had great fortitude and strength and fought the good fight. She especially enjoyed having time with her granddaughters and great-granddaughter.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime. She will be greatly missed.
