Mrs. Mary Anne Kucij Haley, 61 of Flemington, Missouri, was born on July 5, 1957 at Murphy Memorial Hospital in Whittier, California and passed away Saturday, May 17, 2019. She was the daughter of Theodore Gerick Kucij and June Krebs Kucij.
She and her husband, Hoy, resided in Flemington, Missouri for 25 years. She was a homemaker after retiring early. She most recently worked at the Amvets Post 114 in Flemington where she enjoyed many wonderful friends. She leaves many friends from the years she lived in Minnesota and California previously.
She is survived by her husband, Hoy Lee Haley; sister, Lenore H. Porter & husband, Artie Porter; brother, Tim M. Kucij & wife, Paulina V. Kucij; three step-children, David M. Haley & wife, Melinda Haley, Donald M. Haley & wife, Dana Haley and Deanna Haley; 4 grand-children, 7 great-grand-children; two nephews, Thomas J. Kucij and Carter G. Porter; a grand-nephew, Andrei Kucij and grand-niece, Aryanna Kucij.
Above all, Mary Anne or “Mary” loved her family and friends. She and Hoy loved spending time together, enjoying their beautiful home and property. They loved their dogs, horses, cows, various animals and great country living. They had a deep love for each other and for their friends. Both could be counted on to be there for their friends when they were needed. Mary Anne was a kind, very loving person. She recently took care of her parents, making sure their needs were always taken care of and was there with them, showering them with love until they passed away in 2011. She and Hoy took in their little dog and loved and cared for it when her Mom was no longer able to care for it. She loved him deeply, as her Mom had done and would have wanted. Mary Anne was proud of Hoy and what a good husband he was to her and friend he is to all who are lucky enough to call him friend. She told of how Hoy was always “out helping a friend”, with whatever the need was at the time. She was always happy to know he was doing that and helped whenever she could as well.
Mary Anne was a wonderful cook, as was her mother and grandmother before her. Not having been blessed with children was her regret. And she showered that love on the children in her life as well as on her very fortunate pets. They were thoroughly spoiled by her attentions. She loved all her animals. She always loved horses! She loved riding them or just loving them and hugging them at home.
She has wonderful fond memories of growing up in a loving family, enjoying the sun and pool in California, spending time on Lake Minnetonka in MN, and stayed in touch with childhood friends her whole life. She told of how she loved her husband more now than ever. Their marriage just grew stronger with time. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
To honor her wishes, no funeral services are planned. There will be visitation on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4 – 6 p.m. Cremation is under the direction of Butler Funeral Home, Humansville.
