Mary Jewell Melton (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mary Jewell ( Black) Melton was born to Ezra and Grace Black on May 20, 1920 in Polk County, Missouri and departed this life on July 3, 2014 in Bolivar, Missouri.
She married Charlie Melton on December 22, 1937 and to this union two daughters were born, Mary Lorraine and Thelma June.
She was saved in a revival at Adonis, held by Bro. Fletch Davis, August 3, 1947, and joined the church and was Baptized the August 10th. After the death of her husband of 52 years, Charlie Melton, she moved her membership to Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in December 1990.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Grace Black; her husband, Charlie Melton; a granddaughter, Linda Mutzbauer; sister Dortha and Eugene Wilson; brother, Virgil and Lupe Black; half brother, Clarence and Elsie Jenkins; son-in-law, James Lowry; nieces and nephews, Marion and John Garris, James Jenkins, and Sylvia and Gene Worthy.
Jewell is survived by her daughters, Lorraine Creech and her husband David of Bolivar, and June Lowry of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Pam Garrison, Connie Hoaglin and her husband Regie, Ronnie Creech and his wife Cindi, Dennis Lowry and his wife Julie, and Karen Lowry; great-grandchildren, Janica and Dalton Lowry, Justin Mutzbauer, Jacklyn and Alex Creech, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
