Mary Jones' Obituary
Mary Etta Jones, daughter of Porter and Grace Jackson Officer, was born November 8, 1931, near Morgan, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, March 28, 2011, in St. John?s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, four months, and twenty days. On November 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Ivan Dale Jones, and to this union one daughter and one son were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan, on April 18, 2001; a daughter, Mary Joan Jones; a granddaughter, Deniece Jones; and two brothers, Virgil and Lester; and a sister, Wilma. Mary is survived by a son, Ronald D. Jones, and his wife, Pat, of Grovespring, Missouri; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Roberts, of St. Louis, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Morgan community. After she and Ivan were married, they made their home on their farm near Grovespring, Missouri, and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Mary also worked for the H. D. Lee Company for a number of years. Mary had made her profession of faith in Christ and attended Mount Zion (Cuba) Freewill Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, making afghans, and working in her garden. She enjoyed taking trips and traveling with her family. She always made her family the center of her life and especially liked visiting with her granddaughter, Ashley. She also enjoyed feeding hummingbirds and spending time with her little dog ?Buddy?. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends will live on forever.
