Mary Kathryn Wimberly (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary Kathryn Wimberly was born March 12, 1942, in Lebanon, Missouri to Joseph and Elsie Vaughn Shumate. She passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025 in Lebanon, Missouri. She was eighty-two years, ten months and twenty-eight days of age.
Kathryn lived her entire life in Lebanon and was a graduate of Lebanon High School. On February 23, 1963, she was united in marriage to Raymond W. Wimberly and to this union, two beautiful daughters were born.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elsie; her loving husband, Raymond, who passed away January 23, 2012; her brothers, Wayne, Fred, Billy, Joe Bill and an infant brother, Paul; and four sisters, Virginia Adkins, Irene Morgan, Ivah Stuart and Alice Hahn.
She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Laddusire and her husband Dennis, and Melissa Blankenship, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jeremy Sutton and his wife Tabitha, Stephanie Blankenship, and Matthew Blankenship; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Kathryn enjoyed her career as a seamstress at H.D. Lee Company for thirty-five years. She was a wonderful employee and made many lifelong friends while working there.
She loved God with all her heart and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Kathryn looked forward to vacationing out West. She collected rocks and other artifacts and appreciated the beautiful scenery. She loved being outdoors where camping and fishing were among her favorite activities. She also liked bird watching. In her younger years, you could find Raymond and Kathryn barn dancing and square dancing.
Above all, Kathryn loved her family. They were the center of her life and when grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, she was so very happy.
Kathryn will be remembered for her love of family vacations (especially the Western United States) and her dedication to her loved ones. Her warm presence and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral service for Kathryn Wimberly will be Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 2 p.m. in Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 - 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Dotson Cemetery. A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
