Mary L. Cox (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary Louise Williams Cox, daughter of Virgil L. and Vandaly Williams, was born June 30, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas. She departed this life Monday, January 23, 2012, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, six months, and twenty-three days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Jonnie.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Jannie Neeley, and her husband, James, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Mary Jean Carpenter, of the State of California; two sons, Gary Carpenter, and Jerry Carpenter, both of Warrensburg, Missouri; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Burvel Williams, and his wife, Leatta, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Vurgess Williams, of the State of Tennessee, and Jerry Williams, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister, Myrtle Waterman, and her husband, Loran, of Ottawa, Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Kansas City, Missouri area. She then made her home in several different locations while her husband was serving in the military. She eventually made her home in Laclede County, Missouri, where she lovingly raised her children. Throughout the years, Mary was a devoted homemaker to her family.
Mary had established her own personal relationship with her Lord and Savior and followed the Pentecostal faith.
She had a great love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with her brothers, nieces and nephews. She also liked to do babysitting, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
