Mary Pauline Lewis (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary Pauline Lewis, daughter of Walter “Jack” and Syble Jones Caviness, was born June 13, 1931, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, November 24, 2020, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, five months, and eleven days.
In 1946, she was united in marriage to Paul Monroe Mann, and to this union one son was born. Mr. Mann passed away in 1963.
In 1967, she married Francis Lugene Lewis and this union was blessed with one son. They shared fifty-two years before his passing on May 27, 2019.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Harold Caviness.
Pauline is survived by two sons, Jerry Paul Mann, and his wife, Maria, of San Antonio, Texas, and Gary “Gene” Lewis, and his wife, Gina, of Lebanon, Missouri; a step-son, Ronnie Lewis, and his wife, Sherry, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Steven Mann, and his wife, Juliet, Ryan Mann, and his wife, Gretchen, Gabriel Rodgers, and her husband, Sabbath, and Jonathan Lewis; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Caviness, and his wife, Anna, of Joplin, Missouri; a nephew, Ken Caviness, and his wife, Deanna, of Joplin, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Camdenton area and for five years lived in the water tower at Ha Ha Tonka while her father was the caretaker. She made her home in the Lebanon area since 1970, and was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. Pauline also worked as a cook at the Lebanon Hospital and at the Joel E. Barber School cafeteria for a number of years.
Pauline had made her profession of faith in Christ and was an active member of the Oakland Heritage Church where she enjoyed the fellowship of friends.
She loved cooking and particularly baking biscuits and gravy. She enjoyed traveling around Missouri, and was never afraid of anything, such as taking a ride in a helicopter when she was eighty years old. The Ozarks were special to her and she was well known and respected in the community. She was an immaculate housekeeper and especially enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren. She possessed an outgoing personality and always had a smile.
Pauline was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Nov. 27 at 11 a.m. at Lebanon Cemetery.
