Mary Kay Mackie (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Mary Kay Mackie, age 76, entered into rest on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Colonial Springs Healthcare Facility in Buffalo, Missouri.
Mary Kay Wilcoxon was born on January 3, 1947, in Lexington, Missouri to Jefferson and Kathryn (Hughes) Wilcoxon. Mary worked in banking most of her life. She worked hard to provide for her son Chris. Mary was a dedicated mother, always making sure that Chris had what he needed, even if she had to go without. There was always a roof over their heads and food on the table. Mary enjoyed cooking and took great pride in fixing dinner each evening. Mary worked hard to instill in Chris good moral values and manners. She was an example to him on being a hard worker and being productive in life. Mary enjoyed traveling. The last trip prior to Mary’s health declining was to Yellowstone with her son. They enjoyed the beauty of the national park. Mary also traveled to France and to Quebec. In Quebec, Mary and her friends watched figure skating. Mary loved watching figure skating and she also was a skater herself.
Mary was always proud of her son, especially the day that her son became a father. Mary loved being a grandma and loved Hunter even more.
Mary was a wonderful mother and loving grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Mary is survived by her son Chris Mackie, grandson Hunter Mackie, and his mother Frances Mackie.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo, Missouri.
