Mary McCleary's Obituary
Mary E. McCleary, daughter of William J. and Gertrude Crippen Brazeal, was born July 25, 1915 in Mansfield, Missouri and departed this life on December 23, 2011 in her daughters’ home near Springfield, Missouri at the age of ninety-six years, four months and twenty-eight days.
On May 5, 1934 she was united in marriage to Lloyd McCleary and to this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd on February 16, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Billy Carl McCleary and Gary Lynn McCleary; two brothers, Everett “Cotton” Brazeal and William Jackson “Jack” Brazeal. Jr.
Mary is survived by a son, Bobby McCleary and his wife Linda of Ava, Missouri; a daughter, Mary Sue Pickney and her husband, Clay of Springfield, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.
Mary was born and raised in Mansfield and lived here until moving to Springfield in 1954. She was a devoted wife and homemaker and had also worked at What-A-Burger in Springfield.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. Mary was a caring person who always worried about the well being of her family. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her long life and accomplishments and will always cherish the many wonderful memories.
