Mary Mulligan (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary Louise Mulligan, daughter of Amos and Rosa Starnes Rue, was born June 3, 1929, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, June 14, 2012, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, and eleven days.
On December 29, 1950, she was united in marriage to Clifton Mulligan, and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifton, on February 5, 1993; a granddaughter, Michelle; two brothers, James and Charles Jones; and three sisters, Clemma Boyd, Verde Lee, and Ruth Biggs.
Mary is survived by a son, Clifford Mulligan, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, Loretta Sue Lewis, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Linda Kane, of Centralia, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Christina Burwell, Jamie Lewis, and his wife, Barbara, Mindy Mulligan, Cindy Ogle, Missy Tubbs, and her husband, Rob, April Mulligan, and Jackie Lewis; twelve great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jordan, Abigail, Emily, Rikki, Macy, Ashtin, Kaylen, Stacie, Dillon, Alex, and Andrew; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon community, and attended Lebanon schools. After she and Clifton were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted and hard working homemaker to her family, Mary also worked in the housekeeping department at Best Western Motel for twenty-one years.
Mary had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Lebanon.
She enjoyed caring for her home and was an excellent cook, especially known for her homemade pies. Her family was very important to her and she dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
