Mary Pletch's Obituary
Mary Ellen Neeley Leap-Pletch, daughter of Bluford and Edna Florence McClellan Neeley, was born June 5, 1925 in Cole County, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, August 5, 2011 in Christian Health Care South, Lebanon, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years and two months.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Brenda Louise Leap; two step-sons, Kenneth and Raymond Leap; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Glenn and Harold Neeley.
She is survived by her children, Gary Leap and wife Debbie of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Jackson Leap and wife Susan of Nashville, Tennessee, Sharon Shipman and husband Bill of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Donna Jones of Waterloo, Iowa; her step-children, Paul Leap and wife Judy and Roberta Willis and husband Vaughan, all of Macks Creek, Missouri, Donald Leap and wife Thelma, of Camdenton, Missouri, Glenna Cooper, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Phyllis Eidson of Roach, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; twenty-two step-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and many friends.
Mary Ellen spent her younger years in the Camden County area and attended the Linn Creek School through the eighth grade. Although moving to several states during her lifetime, Mary Ellen always returned to Camden County, this was her home, no matter where she lived.
Mary Ellen was Baptist by faith, and attended the First Freewill Baptist Church in Lebanon as long as her health permitted.
In her spare time, Mary Ellen enjoyed fishing, sewing, and traveling, as well as going shopping every chance she could.
Mary Ellen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the many memories she has created for her family and friends.
