Mary Shaddy (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary Joanne Shaddy, daughter of Rev. Sheddie Barber and Flora Mae Dinwiddie Barber, was born July 13, 1947, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, November 4, 2020, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, three months, and twenty-two days.
On March 19, 1965, she was united in marriage to Jake F. Shaddy, and they shared the last fifty-five years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randy Shaddy; two brothers, James Barber and Brennon Barber; and a sister, Janie Barber.
Mary is survived by her husband, Jake, of the home; a son, Michael Shaddy, and his wife, Amanda, and Chad Barber, who she and Jake raised as their son, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Dalton and Brikkar Shaddy, and Gibson Barber; a brother, Merle Barber, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She lived her entire life in the Lebanon area, and graduated from Hartville High School. After she and Jake were married, they made their home in Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Mary worked at Taylor Dairy Joy, Walmart, York’s Beauty Supply, Prestige Perfume at various times. She worked at Bon Worth Women’s Clothing Store in the V.F. Outlet Mall for over ten years and was the store manager, area manager, and traveled for the company.
Mary made her profession of belief in Christ early in her life and followed the Baptist faith. She had attended several area churches through the years.
She loved fashion and nice clothes and was always proud of her appearance. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
