Mary Louise Simpson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary Louise Simpson, age seventy-nine, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born to Walter Ernest Schuenemeyer and Mildred L. Stubblefield Schuenemeyer on October 19, 1944 in Lebanon, Missouri.
She grew up in the Richland Community and professed her faith in Jesus Christ at First Baptist Church, Richland. She graduated from Richland High School in the class of 1962.
On September 3, 1971, she married her true love and best friend, Inmon Dale Simpson. They were married for over forty-two years until he passed away February 19, 2013.
In addition to Inmon, Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Leon.
She is survived by her step-son, Mike Simpson and his wife Becky of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Ramona Schuenemeyer of Prairie Village, Kansas; her step-granddaughter, Grace Simpson; her nephew, Lee Walter Schuenemeyer and his wife Carrie of Leawood, Kansas; two great-nephews, Eli and Breck Schuenemeyer, and other relatives and friends.
Many people will remember Mary from her thirty plus years with the Division of Family Services in Lebanon. She was very knowledgeable in her duties and was credited with helping many Laclede County families.
Following her retirement, she and her husband, Inmon, started a vehicle transfer service for car dealerships. They drove thousands of miles together, delivering cars all over the United States.
Mary was very active in the Lebanon Community, as she served as president on the Hughes Center Board of Directors. She was also a strong supporter of the Lebanon Humane Society and served as church treasurer for several years at Oakland Heritage Church.
She enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling league for many years. She also liked gardening, growing beautiful flowers, and participating in an investment club.
Mary also loved to travel. She and Inmon enjoyed going on cruises and had “set sail” on a cruise for twenty-one years straight.
Throughout her life, Mary was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, embodying the roles of a loving wife, devoted step-mother, and cherished grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt. Her home was a haven of warmth, love, and laughter, where countless memories were created and treasured. Her warm presence and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
