Mary Skinner (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Mary was born on April 14, 1964, in Bosie Idaho to the late Arnold Edward and Donna Lynn (Martin) Skinner. When her dad got the news that she was born, he was so excited that he accidentally rolled his blue Buick on the way to meet her, which was a story that always made her laugh every time she heard him tell it. In December of 1984, Mary met Joel Max Skinner, after writing letters to each other for quite some time. His aunts met her and liked her so much, they said she needed to start writing one of their nephews, so that she could be part of their family. She said, “I don’t write boys first, but he can write me, and I’ll write him back!” It worked, and they were united in marriage on June 22, 1985, in Halsey, Oregon. Gifted to this union were six children. Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She cared for all who entered her home, along with raising her children. In her later years, Mary and Joel took on the responsibility of raising their beloved nephews. Mary was a God-fearing faithful woman who loved to sing, and is well-remembered for that. She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn when she was twelve years old, on May 26, 1976, by Bro. Leland Bruner, and her faith never left her, even up ‘til the very end.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Donna Jensen, sister Christina Hays, three brothers Neil Jensen, Anthony Jensen, and Eric Jensen, one infant sister, Josie, and infant son Joshua Keith Skinner. She is survived by her husband Joel Skinner, children Kara Joy Britton and husband Heath, Alyssa Kate Skinner, Anna Lynne Skinner, Joseph Max Skinner, and Benjamin Edward Skinner, two nephews Jack Dean Elliott and Jacob Lee Elliott, one sister Sara Elliott, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and beloved friends.
