Mary Todd (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary Louise Todd, daughter of Lee Orville and Amy F. Hamilton Jones, was born September 22, 1934, in Grovespring, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, July 14, 2018, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, nine months, and twenty-three days.
On November 14, 1953, she was united in marriage to Earl Raymond Todd, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl, on November 30, 2016; a daughter-in-law, Linda Todd; a brother, Robert Jones; and two sisters, Helen Hightower and Joyce Hicks.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Gail Calton, and her husband, Mike, of Grovespring, Missouri; two sons, Kenny Todd, and Keith Todd, and his wife, Cindy, all of Grovespring, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kelley, Chad, Nathan, Travis, Jami, and Nicole; six great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Carly, Jeffrey, Cody, Garrett, and Evan; a brother, Rolland Jones, and his wife, Beverly, of Marshfield, Missouri; a sister, Phyllis Hightower, of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Grovespring community, and attended Hartville Schools. She then lived in Lebanon for a few years before moving to St. Louis. She and Earl made their home in St. Louis and lovingly raised their family. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Mary worked for the Standard Machine Shop for a number of years. Later, she and Earl returned to the Grovespring area. Mary continued to work for several years, first at the H. D. Lee Company and then for K-Way Camping.
Mary had made her profession of faith in Christ and attended Mount Zion (Cuba) Freewill Baptist Church for as long as her health allowed.
She enjoyed being outdoors where her favorite activities were bird watching and fishing. She liked going to yard sales and loved playing with her dog, “Jack”. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-three years.
Memorial contributions to the Cuba Cemetery or the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, may be brought to the funeral home or the church on the day of the service.
