Mary Christine Zimmerman, daughter of David Charles and Mary Ruth (Daily) Kreider, was born April 14, 1949, in Joliet, Illinois. She departed this life Sunday, May 2, 2010, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-one years and eighteen days.
On June 27, 1968, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Arthur Zimmerman and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Marty Kreider; a sister, Donna Kreider; a brother-in-law, Robert Zimmerman; and a sister-in-law, Corrine Darling.
Mary is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; her two sons, David P. Zimmerman and his wife, Reva, and Robert M. She grew up in Illinois and Indiana and moved to Seymour, Missouri, in 1967 and graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1967. In 1968 she and Kenneth were married and made their home in Seymour and lovingly raised their sons. Even though she suffered a massive stroke in 1985, she fought hard to overcome the disabilities resulting from it. She was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness in Mansfield, Missouri.
In her spare time Mary enjoyed knitting and growing beautiful flowers. She loved to travel and she and Kenneth had made several trips to different areas of the United States. Mary was a devoted homemaker to her family and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Mary was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and praise her for her strength, determination, and faith. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
