Mary "Libby" Elliott (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mary Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Elliott, age 82 of Bolivar, MO passed away at 5:20 am Thursday, August 01, 2013 at the Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar after a long illness.
She was born in Hawk Point, MO the daughter of Everett Beck and Carrie Elizabeth (Morris) Beck.
Libby worked at the Bolivar Herald Free Press for 37 years. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play softball, baseball and basketball. In the last few years she has enjoyed being visited by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Libby was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church and enjoyed going out to lunch with her girlfriends after services on Sunday. All though she was not able to precipitate in the past couple of years, she loved helping at the church with wedding receptions. Libby enjoyed collecting anything with butterflies or shoes. She had a routine Saturday morning for years of going to the beauty shop and visiting with the ladies there.
Libby was proceeded in death by late husband Burl Elliott, parents Carrie and Everett Beck, daughter Elizabeth Elliott Knight, and son David Elliott and brothers Phil Beck and Henry Beck.
Surviving is her son, John Elliott and wife Robbin of Bolivar, MO; 5 grandchildren, Kirby Elliott, Dylan Elliott, Cassidy Elliott, all of Bolivar, MO; Courtnie Vigesaa and husband Chris of Finley, ND; and Kaylynn Todd and husband Moe of Springfield, MO. Also her 4 Great Grandchildren Alaya Todd, Wylie Vigesaa, Weslie Vigesaa and Wayden Vigessa. And a host of other relatives and many, many friends.
