Mary Louise Clark (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mary Louise Clark, daughter of James Cecil and Zelva Wilson Nunn, was born February 16, 1927, near Weaubleau, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, one month, and twenty days.
On June 21, 1949, she was united in marriage to Rev. Lawrence Boyd “Jack” Clark, and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Jack, on May 3, 1996; and a sister, Iona Fay (Dickerson) Woehrle.
Mary Louise is survived by two daughters, Linda Scott, and her husband, Larry, of Thomasville, North Carolina, and Debra Ann Yates, and her husband, Brent, of Preston, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Joshua Scott, and his wife, Gina, of
Chesapeake, Virginia, Gabriel Scott, and his wife, Lynn, Hannah Vinson, and her husband, Thomas, Caleb Scott, and his wife, Katie, and Gideon Scott, all of Thomasville, North Carolina, Jacob Scott, and his wife, Emily, of Greensboro, North Carolina, Cheyenne Yates, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Bolivar, Missouri, Justin Yates, and his wife, Brandy, of Camdenton, Missouri, Dakota Yates, and his wife, Danai, and Sierra Yates, all of Preston, Missouri; seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Guffey, and her husband, F.A., of Bolivar, Missouri, and Glenda Bays, and her husband, Donald, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Weaubleau, Missouri community, and then moved to the Kansas City, Missouri area. While working in Kansas City, Mary Louise met her future husband, Jack, and they were married in 1949. Mary Louise was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, and was also a dedicated minister’s wife. Throughout the forty years they were involved in ministry, she and Jack served churches in Everton, and Springfield, and at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon, Richland First Baptist Church, Houston First Baptist Church, and Antioch Baptist Church near Oakland, Missouri. They retired to Lebanon about thirty years ago. Mary Louise was always by her husband’s side until his passing in 1996.
Mary Louise made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and served her Lord and Savior devotedly throughout her life.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, growing beautiful flowers, and doing ceramics. She possessed a very giving heart and a serving spirit. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Louise was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
