Mason Lee Thomason (Seymour)'s Obituary
Mason Lee Thomason, son of Victor Mason and Artie Marie (Cardwell) Thomason, was born December 29, 1938, in Seymour, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at his home near Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, six months, and eleven days.
On May 21, 1957, he was united in marriage to Alice Elizabeth Cook and to this union four sons and two daughters were born.
In addition to his parents, Mason was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, in October 2007; two sons, Victor Lee Thomason and Thomas Dean Thomason; his half-sister, Virginia Lee; three sisters-in-law, Edith Childress, Verda Morris, and Betty Ashley; and four brothers-in-law, Freeman Cook, James Cook, Samuel Cook, and Clinton Cook.
Mason is survived by four children, daughter, Janice Thomason of Fordland, Missouri, son, James Thomason and husband, Keith Osburn, of Strafford, Missouri, son, Victor ‘Billy’ Thomason and wife, Tina, of Marshfield, Missouri, and daughter, Laura Hampton of Fordland; eight grandchildren, Keely and Robert Leeper, Joshua Thomason, Kari Thomason, Ethan Thomason, Amanda and Raymond Keeton, Abby Hampton, Cleo Hampton, and Shelby Thomason; five great-grandchildren, Brynley, Raegyn, Lily, Riley, Ronald, and baby girl Mayson on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many more friends, neighbors, and comrades.
He was born and raised in the Seymour area and graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1956. After he and Alice married, they lived in several different locations while he faithfully served and then retired from the United States Air Force. In 1977, they moved to the Marshfield area to make their home.
Mason liked to tinker and work on old cars. He also enjoyed fishing. Spending time with family was his favorite pastime.
Mason was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a loyal brother and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the moments and memories he created for his family and friends.
