Matthew Allen (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Matthew Nathaniel Allen, son of Donald Ray, Sr. and Teffra S. (Calvert) Allen was born November 5, 1993, in Columbia Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, March 11, 2018 in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of twenty-four years four months and six days.
He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Bob and Naomi Allen; his uncle, Dennis Allen; his “Ma”, Jeanette Segraves and his Grama Garnet Klinginsmith.
He is survived by his mother, Teffra Allen, Camdenton, Missouri; his sister, Alisha Allen, Camdenton, Missouri; his brother, Donnie and Amy Allen and their children, Elizabeth, Michael, Lucas and Sarah; his maternal grandparents , Ernie and Jane Calvert, Camdenton, Missouri; his great grandmother, Lula Calvert, Camdenton, Missouri; his aunts and uncles, Ernie and Christi Calvert, Camdenton, Missouri, Richard and Terry Allen, Humansville, Missouri and Marilyn Hood, Raytown, Missouri; “Pa” Harold Segraves, Camdenton, Missouri; his cousins Levi, Wyatt, and Jolee Calvert and Megan Miller; his spiritual grandmother, Linda Flanders; his dog, Alice, as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
Matthew was raised in the Camdenton area and was a graduate of Camdenton High School class of 2012. He was a proud member of the Pride of the Lake Marching Band, the percussion section of the Symphonic Band and he played the piano in the Jazz Band. He attended Mizzou where he majored in music. While at Mizzou, he was in the praise and worship team with the Chi Alpha fraternity. He had been to Haiti on a mission trip where he shared his love for our Lord Jesus Christ. He had started with Dierbergs in 2013 where he participated in the Dierbergs intern program. Matthew had worked his way up through the ranks and was an assistant store manager.
Matthew made a profession of faith and was a member of the Family of God church where he was also the praise and worship leader.
He was very gifted musically. He had a passion for writing his own music, which many times you would hear him playing at the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home during visitations. He taught piano lessons for many years. Matthew was an Apple and BMW genius!!! He greatly anticipated when any new product was coming out. In his spare time, he enjoyed being in his BMW or watching any Batman movie whether new or old.
Matthew had a passion for life. We will all treasure the beautiful memories that he has blessed all of us with. He was a very “old soul” and LOVED Gramas!!
