Matthew Cowden (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Matthew Joseph Cowden, age 28, of Miller, Missouri passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at his home in Miller, Missouri.
He was born January 20, 1983 in Springfield, Missouri to Gary Michael Cowden and Mary Frances Galeassi.
Matthew was a Bolivar High School graduate, the class of 2001. He served his country in the United States Air Force for two and a half years. He enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, collecting baseball cards and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Oren & Ruby Cowden, Ernest & Dorothy Galeassi and two aunts; Merlene Zukowski and Shirley McCormick.
Matthew is survived by his mother and step-father; Mary & Lonnie Hagedorn of Bolivar, Missouri, his father; Mike Cowden of Bolivar, Missouri, his brother; Steven M. Cowden and his wife Jessie of Bolivar, Missouri, two nieces, Ashlyn and Aubrey Cowden, many cousins, two that are very special to Matt; Holly Bolek and Ashley White, several Aunts and Uncles, his girlfriend; Brandi Gilland and her daughter Lilly Gilland.
Per Matthew’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial visitation will be held on Thursday evening, April 21, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Burial of his cremains will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery just South of Springfield, Missouri.
